3Just the part I need, but why do they keep breaking?
By Montgomery Scott
A plumber installed a Moen Posi-Temp faucet in my bathroom. Seems to work just fine, but for some reason, the handle breaks each 6-8 months (the inner plastic ring cracks and it may no longer grip the metal stem). The Posi-Temp handle does not seem to work with generic tub faucet knobs, and I cannot always find this in stores. So I now keep a spare in my house at all times. I guess I will have to just replace the faucet, but a new knob each 8 months is less than a plumber will charger to put in a new one, so I’m comparatively happy.

3Replacement for Moen handle 96997
By Pen Name
This Moen knob handle breaks rather frequently, because it’s a plastic handle that turns a metal stem for your shower. Eventually the plastic stem snaps and the entire knob becomes useless. Pretty poor design from an technology perspective, but great for making clients repeatedly buy a piece of plastic. Looking at the inside of the handle, the word “Moen” and the number “96997″ is engraved, in spite of the percentage number on the packaging listing 100710. I plan on ultimately replacing the entire metal stem, but in the meantime, one alternate knob each few years is easier.

Perfect fit for the initial Moen Knob for Shower.
1/2 the price of Home Depot without the shipping and tax!
As far as the complaints of braking after 6 months, I got 15 years on the firstborn with a lot of usage, but with all the outsourcing since 1995, they are not making plastic goods like they applied to, so I’ll have to wait and see.
All things considered, thanks to Amazon and David Powers Limited.
It was packaged great for shipping and is the precise match.
I willingly will order another if needed.
…I do wish the quality of all productions would return to ‘American Made’, back to before, rather of from CHINA!!
